본 연구의 목적은 질문중심 하브루타 프로그램이 학생들의 질문생성능력과 호기심 활성화에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 한다. 연구대상은 전라북도 익산시에 소재한 초등학교 5학년 4개 학급 76명이었으며 학생 37명을 실험집단으로, 학생 39명을 통제집단으로 연구를 실시하였다. 실험집단에 대해서만 7주간 도덕과를 중심으로 국어, 실과, 사회 교과내용을 주제별 통합, 재구성하여 질문중심 프로그램을 실시하였다. 연구방법으로는 SPSS 25.0 통계 프로그램을 이용하여 독립표본 t검정을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 질문중심 하브루타 프로그램에 참여한 학생들은 통제집단 학생들에 비해 생성한 질문의 총 양과 질문 수준에 있어서 모두 유의미한 차이를 보였다. 특히 단순한 개념에 대해 묻는 질문인 사실질문, 텍스트에서 근거를 기반으로 한 해석질문, 평가질문 모두 질문 생성 능력이 증가하였으며 그 중에서도 해석질문의 질문 생성 능력이 두드러지게 증가하는 양상을 보였다. 또한 통제집단에 비해 실험집단의 호기심이 유의하게 향상된 것을 확인할 수 있었으며, 호기심의 유형별로 살펴보면, 특수-지각 호기심과 일반-지적 호기심이 향상된 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 반면 일반-지각 호기심과 특수-지적 호기심은 평균점수는 상승했으나 유의한 차이를 보이지 않았다. 질문중심 하브루타 프로그램은 학생의 질문 생성능력 향상에 효과적이며 학생들의 호기심 활성화를 돕는 효과적인 학습 전략임을 확인할 수 있었다.

The purpose of this study was to find out how question-centered Havruta lessons affect student’s ability to generate questions and activate their curiosity. The research was targeted 76 5th grade students from four classes elementary schools located J city. Among them, experimental group conducted classes with Question-centered Havruta lessons. The lessons are designed a theme-centered integration of Ethics, Korean language, Social studies and Practical arts education. This program is consisted of 7 sessions, each with once in a week, and run of 40 to 80 minutes to accommodate the core activity. The basic model of Question-centered Havruta lessons is included Finding a topic, reading and making inquiries, Mate Havruta, Bunched Havruta, the Whole Havruta, and internalizing. The results through this study are as follows. First, the question-centered Havruta program will cause students to express more curiosity in the form of questions and will have a significant impact on improving the level of questions. Second, as we looked at the effect of the question-centered Havruta program on curiosity, we found a significant improvement. We found that the question-centered Havruta program is an effective learning strategy that helps elementary school students improve their ability to generate questions and foster curiosity.
