Understanding the Complexity of Learning in Havruta - Orit Kent
Abstract: This session explored havruta as a multifaceted Jewish learning practice. While havruta is used widely in many Jewish classrooms, there are few theoretical frameworks for understanding havruta learning and rarely have an opportunity to look closely at what students actually do when they study in havruta. In this session, Orit Kent presented a framework for understanding the havruta learning process. She also showed video excerpts of students learning in havruta and guided participants through an analysis of the video clips.
